Meet Your Dentist
Dr. Gefrey Rasmussen
Dr. Gefrey Rasmussen opened his dental practice in 1983 after earning his DDS at the University of Minnesota that same year. Previously, in 1978, he completed his undergraduate work at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. He takes numerous hours of continuing education in each year, primarily in the field of cosmetics and endodontics, to stay abreast of continually changing dental technology. Among the many places he has studied is the prestigious Pankey Institute, located in Biscayne, Florida.
Dr. Rasmussen holds membership in the American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association. He describes his job as half technical, half personal, and he enjoys both parts equally. His favorite cases are those in which an extremely anxious patient finds a new outlook on dentistry because of our gentle, compassionate care and fun atmosphere.
Outside of the office, Dr. Rasmussen leads a physically active life, enjoying biking, basketball, and snowmobiling. He and his wife, Wyayn, have four daughters, two of whom are in college.

Gina Barnes – Treatment Coordinator/Dental Assistant
In over 10 years with Dr. Rasmussen, Gina has become a favorite among our more anxious patients. Her gentle and understanding character makes it easy to see why. “I love what I do and try to make patients feel comfortable and at home to help lower their anxiety. I treat every patient as I would like to be treated myself.” Gina also respects that Dr. Rasmussen uses only the highest quality dental materials, procedures and laboratory facilities. “Nothing but the best!” she says.
Barb Donaldson – Business Manager
Just as every well-oiled machine has one essential part that keeps things running smoothly, Barb has been that key ingredient in our practice for over 20 years. She is the friendly voice on the phone when you call to ask a question or make an appointment. She is the first face you see when you arrive in the office. Barb coordinates all daily activities and is an indispensable part of our team. Her efforts that enable Dr. Rasmussen and our team to concentrate on what we do best: deliver exceptional care to every patient.
Judy Dunn – Dental Hygienist
Judy has more than 25 years of experience in the dental field. Two days each week, she teaches dental students at the University of Minnesota, and two days a week, she cares for patients in our hygiene department. Judy loves all aspects of her career and has a true passion for oral health.
Ellen Hansen – Dental Hygienist
As our hygienist, Ellen educates patients so well about dental hygiene that they literally have no excuse not to follow her instructions at home! She happily shares her 33 years of knowledge and experience (14 of those with Dr. Rasmussen) and helps guide and motivate patents to better oral self-care. However, patients tend to appreciate most that she administers deep and thorough cleanings with no pain. Ellen is particularly gifted at putting patients who are very anxious at ease.
Marisha Hill – Treatment Coordinator/Dental Assistant
In addition to working 14 years as a registered dental assistant with Dr. Rasmussen, Risha enjoys helping out with the front office duties. “Patients here are greeted by name and welcomed into a practice that is a family environment. I am proud to be a part of a team that really cares about every patient’s needs and offers quality care to the fullest.” Her greatest enjoyment is in watching a patient’s face light up with excitement upon seeing his or her new smile!
